Jackson Mahomes, the younger brother of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested on charges of aggravated sexual battery. The 22-year-old social media influencer was taken into custody on Wednesday, March 3, 2023, after a 40-year-old woman accused him of assaulting her in February. Video footage reportedly shows Mahomes forcibly kissing and grabbing the woman with his hands around her neck, as she tries to push him away. The victim, Aspen Vaughn, also alleges that Mahomes shoved a staff member at her restaurant, Aspens Restaurant and Lounge.
Mahomes has been charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of misdemeanor battery. He was released on a $100,000 bond and is due to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on May 11, 2023. If convicted, he could face up to a 55-month sentence. Mahomes’ attorney, Brandan Davies, has stated that they have substantial evidence refuting the accusations against his client, and have provided it to law enforcement.
This is not the first time that Jackson Mahomes has courted controversy. In 2021, he dumped water on a Baltimore Ravens fan, and in 2022, he was caught on camera grabbing a woman’s face in Las Vegas.
