During the shoot for the sequel to the Oscar-nominated movie, fans gathered outside the New York County Supreme Court to catch a glimpse of the action. They were treated to more than just Lady Gaga’s stunning costume and makeup, as she was seen kissing another woman during a scene.
The shoot involved extras dressed up as fans and detractors of the Joker, and at one point, Lady Gaga’s character was heckled by another woman holding a newspaper with a picture of her character, with the headline “Crazy In Love.” In response, Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn grabbed the woman and kissed her on the lips, surprising onlookers.
One bystander at the shoot described the scene as “iconic,” saying, “I wasn’t expecting her to kiss a lady onscreen. She’s f**king iconic! I’ve never seen something like that in my life.”
Joker: Folie À Deux is a sequel to Todd Phillips’ 2019 film Joker, which received an Oscar nomination for its portrayal of the iconic Batman villain. The upcoming film is said to be a musical that will focus on the relationship between the Joker and Harley Quinn, with Lady Gaga in the latter role.
