Promotional Tour Begins for Ponniyin Selvan 2 with Trisha, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Aishwarya Lekshmi on a Private Jet
Ponniyin Selvan 2, the highly anticipated epic fantasy adventure film, is set to release on April 28th after a long wait. Director Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus adaptation of Kalki’s epic novel “Ponniyin Selvan” has been building up momentum with teaser releases and a unique promotional strategy of releasing a song per week leading up to the release date. The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, and Trisha among others. Now, as part of their promotional tour, the cast has taken a private jet to Coimbatore to begin their press junket interactions across the country.
The team arrived in Coimbatore, and Vikram took to his Twitter to share the excitement of the team. He wrote, “Coimbatore. Here is Varronkanna!! PS 2 #Cholasareback” with a photo of the main cast arriving at the airport. The team will travel to Kochi, Bangalore, and Mumbai, covering all the major cities in the country. The film, bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, is one of the most expensive Tamil films to date, and it was shot together with the first installment.
The music for Ponniyin Selvan 2 is composed by A. R. Rahman, who also composed the music for the first part. The songs “Aga Naga” and “Shivoham” were released online and have been receiving positive reviews. Cinematographer Ravi Varman, who also shot the first part, is in charge of the cinematography for the second part. The editing is being handled by A Sreekar Prasad, and the script is written by Mani Ratnam and Elango Kumaravel. With such a star-studded cast and crew, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is sure to make an impact in the Indian film industry.
