William and Kate are getting used to their new jobs.
After William’s father, King Charles III, took the throne Thursday, the royal couple became the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, as well as the Royal Foundation, which is based at Kensington Palace, Charles and Diana’s jobs as Prince and Princess of Wales will be taken over by the 40-year-old parents of three.

When Charles took the throne after her death, it was the beginning of a new era for the House of Windsor. The Queen has asked Camilla Parker Bowles to become Queen Consort. Prince Charles, who is now King, said that the death of his mother was “quite sad.”
“We are saddened by the loss of a beloved queen and mother,” the statement said. “Her death will be felt throughout the country, the realms, and the Commonwealth.”

Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family flew to Scotland to mourn the death of the Queen. Meghan Markle stayed in Germany to help promote the Invictus Games. Middleton stayed behind because Thursday was the first day of school in Windsor, England, for the couple’s children. Princes Charles, Andrew, Edward, and Anne, as well as eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, are the only ones left from the late king.
