Coolio, a rapper, producer, and actor, died on Wednesday. 59-year-old Variety’s Jarel Posey verified his death. Following the rapper’s manager’s declaration of his demise, tributes poured in.

Coolio became a popular rapper in the 90s after recording Gangsta’s Paradise for the 1995 film Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer. The song won Best Rap Solo Performance at the Grammys.
Coolio’s fellow artists also lamented his death on social media. ICE CUBE TWEETED: “Sad. I’ve seen this man’s rise to the top. Peace.” Snoop Dogg said on Instagram: “Gangsters’ Heaven. Death.”
