Taylor Swift is praised as the first female winner of the award.

The Annual Nashville Songwriters Awards on Tuesday, Taylor Swift was presented with the Songwriter-Artist of the Decade Award.

On the 20th of September the glittering celebration was held in Tennessee’s Ryman Auditorium.

In her most recent win The Folklore performer has achieved the distinction of being one of the very first female artists to win the prestigious award.

All Too Well All Too Well vocalist also recorded a record when she won the NSAI Songwriter of the Year award seven times between 2007 and 2015. This is a remarkable feat for a performer.

Swift delivered a 13-minute op-ed where she spoke about her method of songwriting and re-recorded her six studio albums when she accepted the award.

“I’m in this room being presented with this wonderful award for 10 years of hard work and I’m not able to describe how wonderful it feels. As I see it this award that is a celebration of a series of events,” she said on the stage.

“Challenges. Gauntlets were laid out. Collections that I am proud of. Triumphs. Luck or misfortune. Then there are embarrassing, loud mistakes, and the subsequent recuperation from these mistakes and the lessons to be learned from it all.”

“This award honors my family and co-writers as well as my team. My family and friends, my most fierce admirers and my most brutal enemies and everyone who has came into my life or out of it. Since when it comes to my music and my life, they’re one in the same way,” said the singer who looked stunning with a striking black sequin dress during the ceremony.

The audience was later treated to Swift’s entire live, 10-minute rendition from “All Too Well.”
